What POSITION should my baby be in?

Photograph your baby or child in a sitting or laying position. After you have decided on which layout design you like, take your photo in either the vertical or horizontal position, as shown in the design of your choice. Try to take a close up, clear photo. This will ensure that most of the design will be of your baby or child and not the layout of the design. Keep in mind what is in the background of your photo. Try to take photos without a lot of distraction in the background.

What LIGHTING is the best?

The best lighting source is sunlight! Most cameras, whether you have a 35mm or digital, take superior quality photos outdoors. If sunlight is not an option, take your photo in a room that has the best lighting.

How do I SEND you my photo?

Your Photo is the Most Important Element of your design! To ensure High Quality Prints, take your photos at a 300 dpi or better resolution. Digital image resolution is the size of your image, measured in pixels. Images that are higher in resolution will result in better Prints, while those images with a lower resolution will appear fuzzy and indistinct.

Once you place your order, you will be given the choice of uploading your photo(s) immediately, or you can send your photos later to us @ sales@baby-lane.com.

CONTRAST

It is important to be aware of contrast when selecting the photo to use in your product. Contrast is the difference between the lightest and darkest areas in a scene and/or photograph. A small difference between the light and dark areas results in a low contrasting photo, while a greater difference results in a high contrasting photo. Photos with a high contrast traditionally work best. In other words, try not to take photos with a dark background.

If you are submitting a photograph from a Professional Photographer, please request a photographer's release form. You agree not to hold Baby-Lane.com liable for any damages thereof.

At baby-lane, we are committed to excellent service and customer satisfaction. Your birth announcements, baby shower invitations, birthday invitations, and thank you cards are created with special care. We want your photos to stand out above all the rest! In providing this service to you, we offer photo enhancements by our talented graphic designer! Here are some of the complimentary enhancements we provide:

• Blemish Removal, upon Request only

PHOTOsubmissions

In order for us to provide you with the best print quality of your photos, please follow these simple guidelines when submitting photos.

1. Please do not submit your photo into a word document or as a link to an online gallery. The low resolution is not of high quality and will not print out well.

2. Please submit your photos as an attachment directly to us at sales@baby-lane.com

3. When submitting photos, please submit the highest resolution in .jpg form using 300 dpi. It's always best when taking the photo to set your camera at the highest fine quality possible.

4. Please do not crop or resize your photo before submitting. If you would like us to crop or resize your photo, please specify this into the "special requests" area of the order form. Our talented graphic designer is professionally trained in making sure the quality of the photo remains intact when cropping and resizing

REVIEWINGandAPPROVINGyourPROOF

This is the most important time period of your order. It is pertinent we keep in constant contact during this time.

Within 2 business days of submitting your order, you will receive an email proof. If you do not receive a proof within this time period, please contact us by phone @ 503-362-9682. It's possible you are not receiving our emails. This does happen sometimes and emails get lost in cyberspace who knows where!

Once you receive your proof, please look over the details very carefully. This is your chance to make sure everything is spelled correctly and placed just as you wish! Remember, this is your birth announcement, or invitation and we want you to be happy with it!

If you need any changes or find errors, please feel free to bring it to our attention immediately. We will work closely with you every step of the way to ensure you are completely happy with your design and experience with baby-lane. Each time you make a design request, we will send another poof. However, please try to keep all your changes into one request, as this will cut down on the time it takes to complete your order.

Once we receive your final approval, we will move on to printing and shipping of your order!
